Soon after, he encountered Takasugi, who had defected to the side of the radicals; after briefly attempting to reason with him, he eventually managed to dodge past. When the party located the captives, he helped Rosalind first, carrying her to safety and re-dressing her wounds. Unfortunately, he was unable to provide the same assistance to Percival, who bled out from his wounds.
