TDM #7 POWER FREEBIES
This post is for submitting one power that you would like to have gifted to your character on Test Drive #7!
Feel free to give your character any one power that would be classified as a 'major spell' on the ACP rewards table. These powers can fall under any category (Unaffiliated, Natha, Olympia, or Wyver), and must be reported by existing characters and new applicants under the appropriate header using the form below.

Description of power: The ability to manipulate existing shadows/darkness into one or more solid shadow tentacles that he can control. He'll initially only be able to use shadows a short range from himself (such as his own) and only create one at a time, but as he trains with it he'll get improved range and more control over the number of tentacles and how they move, making it more of an area-of-effect power.
Mephisto Pheles | Blue Exorcist
Thread: Boop
Description of power: The ability to summon purple-colored flames. They can be manipulated in a way so that they don't burn at all when touched, but otherwise function like normal fire. However, they can only be extinguished by Mephisto himself, or holy water.
Moira O'Deorain | Overwatch

Description of power: By getting close enough to touch an enemy from behind, she can control their actions for a matter of ten seconds to attack their own allies. As she does this, she drains their life for her own purposes and glows a dark purple. She is obviously vulnerable during this time and if the one she is controlling dies first then that ends what she is capable of doing. Ability cannot be used at a distance and must be only used on one enemy at a time.

Description of power: Null/ability cancel. My thinking is that it can be used as self-defense to allow Jim to break away or shield himself from intrusive mental/emotional powers, and with more work as time goes on, free other people from the same and/or prevent others from using certain offensive abilities (via physical contact/immediate vicinity range). Could be considered under a 'dark' element in some rpg handbooks ?? giant unsure face. idk if this one pans out guys, let me know lol

Description of power: Invisibility. What it says on the tin, tbh? He'll have significantly less control over it when he's frightened or angry which is...a great deal of the time.

Description of power: raising the earth??? i'm not entirely sure where to put this, but peter/spidey would definitely use this ability for blocking, building a kind of temporary wall, and as a way of creating tall 'structures' for himself when he needs the height to websling. for example, in a flat field, he could extrude the earth to create the jumping points he needs to properly sling himself forward. kind of like a frog and lily pads. if more explanation is required, i'd be happy to provide!
Rodney McKay | Stargate Atlantis
Thread: Simulation with John!
Description of power: A mimic of the Ancient Shielding Device, only something he can do by magic! It's basically an invulnerability shell that, when hit, disperses kinetic energy (with a sweet green light-show effect), leaving him unscathed. In canon it's linked to his subconcious, preventing him from doing things like...changing clothes and drinking coffee whenever he's got his 'I'm going to die' buzz of anxiety. Over time I'd like to have him work out how to make it voluntary, but he's a nervous bean.

Description of power: This is a shielding power - with concentration (or essentially her desire for safety/protection) a shimmering dome-shaped blue forcefield appears around Cheryl and her immediate radius, protecting the shielded area from physical attacks. Maintaining the field is mentally and physically tiring the longer it lasts, but with practice she'll eventually be able to maintain it for longer periods of time.

Description of power: Dematerialization, based on the ghost powers he will eventually get in canon. Gabriel can become formless for a few seconds at a time, resembling a cloud of black smoke. It's going to take some time to learn how to use it effectively and reliably, and his lack of experience with it means that it will be irregular and difficult to control. Think individual limbs dissolving when he super doesn't want them to.

Description of power: Chuuya can transform into a small ginger cat. He can control the transformation, but needs to learn how to change back. He’s nude upon changing back into a human. Sometimes when he changes back he keeps the ears and tail. He’s still able to use his ability as a cat.

Description of power: Empathy - the ability to feel other people's emotions through touch. He'll initially only be able to sense it in others but given time and training he will eventually be able to ease or remove emotions from others too when necessary by siphoning them off into himself instead. He will also be able to use this ability in reverse, to project emotions into others as well, but as the word projection suggests he will need to be feeling that emotion himself in order to force it into another person. (I.e. he'd never be able to hurt someone any more than he had already hurt himself.)

Description of power: Empathy. Once he learns to control it, he will be able to read the general mood of the room if he focuses (hostile/happy/angry/etc.) and it will be easier with fewer people around. Through touch, he will be able to feel the strongest emotions of the person he touches, though he will have to learn how to control it and not be overwhelmed by the stronger emotions of others. In time, he may learn how to forge a loose connection with people he is close to so that he can feel a light echo of their emotions even when they aren't touching.

Description of power: Magical influence over plant life. Using her own energy, she can create small amounts of plant life (i.e. flowers), or cause existing plants to grow or wither at an increased pace. Would not include any actual manipulation, i.e. she would be able to make weeds and vines grow to make an area harder to move around in, but would have no control over them beyond growth/decay. (couldn't make a vine wrap around someone's leg or anything like that).

Description of power: The ability to make a full garden work in a smaller space. Things that might not grow together, like flowers and vegetables, will grow just fine side by side. The growth of these plants is increased slightly. They won't grow overnight, but it will take a few weeks, rather than months. (Or months instead of years, if it's a large plant like a tree.)

Description of power: Bardic Influence. He will essentially become a bard in the magical sense. However, he will have no direct control over it at first so all effects will be involuntary. When he sings, his own mood becomes infectious to anyone who can hear the music. Like any other mental based power, those with various immunities will be unaffected and players can opt out. Once he learns how to control it he can have a much stronger impact. From targeting specific people, or choosing the emotion to inspire based on the song rather than what's in his heart. However, that's going to take a lot of time to learn.
Natasha Romanoff | Marvel Comics

Description of power: The ability to teleport anywhere within her line of sight. As she refines it and gains control, will include the ability to take another person she is in physical contact with along with her. Eventual possibility to be used to do things like leave a monster stuck in the middle of a tree, etc. I'm ripping this from her comics interaction with the space stone, so it's definitely not elemental in nature.

Description of power: VITAKINESIS (I am basing the power I am giving Clarke off of this if allowed that is mostly support but would turn into a defense mechanism in extreme circumstances. If this needs to be limited, I am flexible with any adjustments that need to be made!)
Clarke will have the ability to control and manipulate the healing process. The ability is a bit broad but starting out she will be read and sense the health of any living organism. She will be able to heal anything from small cuts to major injuries such as broken bones, major wounds, and limb loss. Similarly, she could also reopen old wounds or inflict new ones on people and manipulate their health (such as speeding up or slowing it down or blocking it completely) if she develops it further. It won't be something she would want use negatively on anyone but under extreme duress, if someone wanted to cause her harm, it could be activated.

Description of power: Pheromone-based manipulation: the ability to send chemical signals (pheromones) that have the power to alter the emotions of biological life forms. At their most basic, she can instill things like panic, anger, calm, and pleasure, among others. As her powers enhance, not only will she be able to control them better but she will be able to go beyond simple emotions and instill things like suggestions or messages.

Description of power: Telepathy. An extension of his canon abilities, Prior will be able to transmit and receive thoughts and - to a degree - feelings. This will not be fully in his control but is something that will develop over time. He will be able to communicate at a distance of roughly ten square miles. In his canon a version of this is demonstrated once, briefly, when he is able to 'remote view' a conversation between two other characters on the other side of the city, and one of those characters then hears Prior call his name from across this distance. This gives that ability more solid definition.

Description of power: The ability to detect and see through illusions others create, whether magic based or holograms like his own. As he's still learning to use this ability, it doesn't work all the time or exactly as he wishes it too.

Description of power: The ability to transform into a bat, to live up to the nickname Inaho gave him. When he's a bat he will have all the senses a bat has, such as fine tuned hearing, echolocation etc. He will also be very cute.

Description of power: Invisibility. I'm thinking that he gets the ability to make himself and whatever he's touching at the time (his clothes/teammate etc) fully invisible for short periods of time. Nothing too fancy! Just an ironic power for a kid who likes being as visible as possible.

Description of power: The ability to phase through solid objects, so long as he's touching it. Like a wall or a door. Can share abilities with someone he's touching too. Nothing super kooky.
